November is almost over and no real rumors have emerged. Based on previous months, referrals should come out on or close to Monday, December 3rd and we have heard practically nothing about when the cut-off date might be...weird.
We are, of course, hoping that they get much further into December, so we can better estimate when we might get our referral. Right now, we are thinking February/March, but that could change - in either direction - depending on what the CCAA does. Christmas is all about miracles, so there is always hope, right?
Whatever happens we will wait as long as we have to, for our daughter(s?), who is already born, somewhere in China.
For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
Blessings to all of you and those you love this Thanksgiving!
Today marks twenty-two months that your Daddy and I have been waiting to hear about you. All this time, we have been getting ready for you, spending time with family and friends, and dreaming of the day we see your face for the first time.
There is so much in this world you will see and experience, and we can’t wait to show it all to you. We will be right there with you, guiding the way, holding your hand and answering all of your questions (as best we can). It will not be too much longer before we see your picture, hear all about you, and begin planning our journey to China to bring you home with us. China is a very long way from Georgia, where we live; in fact, it is on the other side of the world! But, we would gladly travel ten times that far just to see you, hold you and tell you how much we love you. You are everything we have been hoping and praying for and we think about you every day. We pray that you are safe and well, and that someone is there for you when you are sad, tired or hurting. We long to be there for you during those times and promise that once we are together, we will always be there to love and protect you.
There are so many people waiting to meet you. You have grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who haven’t met you, but already love you so much! When you come home with us, you will get to meet them all and with all that love to surround you, you will never need to feel lonely or afraid. We know that you don’t know anything about us yet, and might be too little to really understand what is happening, but we realize that your whole world will change and it may be scary and confusing. We will be there for you, every step of the way, making sure you know how much you are loved, so you will feel safe and secure.
Until we can hold you close, we send you all our prayers, hopes and wishes, and we take comfort knowing God is watching over you and taking care of you until we can be together. His hands will hold you and His love protect you every second of every day. We will teach you all about God and His amazing love for you. You will grow up knowing that He is always there for you, especially during the times that we cannot be, and that knowledge will bring you comfort and security all the days of your life.
Sweet baby girl, we love you more than anything in this world, more than all the stars in the sky or water in the oceans – to China and all the way back again. We can't wait to meet you...
Your Mommy and Daddy
We had a good time last night at Michael & Lisa's house (J's youngest brother and his wife), along with their two daughters, Morgan and Jackie. Also there were Daniel and Shelby (the middle brother and his wife), and their two sons, Travis and Matthew, and Grandma Betty. Getting four kids to cooperate for a group photo proved to be somewhat challenging, but here there are in all their Halloween cuteness. Travis is getting so big, we made him kneel down for the picture below.
Morgan wanted me to take this picture of her and cousin Travis. She is a Fairytopia Princess and Travis is a Transformer.
And here are the mom's (Lisa and Shelby) with their little ones...Jackie was a kitty-cat and Matthew was the itsy-bitsy spider.
The weather was perfect and most people were out on their front porches handing out candy and enjoying the beautiful fall evening. It was a great Halloween - there was only one thing missing...sigh
