The Good, the bad and the inevitable

So...it appears that the CCAA has confirmed that the cutoff is indeed January 9th, so one more month of waiting for us my friends!   The good news is we won't have to worry about whether we are in next month, for we know we we will be, and the best part is knowing we WILL see our baby's face in a few short weeks. Sending lots of love out to our fellow 1/10'ers, especially Susan and Riz, Nancy and Ed, Marie and Doug, and all our travel group.  We will be in China soon to meet our babies and all this waiting and frustration will be behind us...it won't be long!  Congratulations to all the families who received referrals this month - such cute, and young babies this time around.

In other very good news, my younger brother Sean and wife Christine welcomed their second child into the world (a few weeks early) at 2:20 am this morning - a sweet baby boy weighing in at 6 lbs 1 oz, who they have named Joseph Patrick.  I am going to jump in the shower and head to the hospital in a few minutes to see them.  Nothing like holding a newborn baby to make everything seem right with the world!

  1. So sorry that you missed the cut-off by one day, it's rough. We know all too well that experience as we too missed ours by one day. I had real-life friends LID the day ahead of us and we always "knew" we would travel together but alas, they made the cut-off and we received our referral the following month. I will say that the final month was the easiest month because there was no stress over "IF" we would make the cut-off, we knew we were golden and it allowed us to do all those last couple only things that we wanted. I'm looking forward to next month when you post YOUR referral!! Enjoy your final month as your world is about to be turned upside down in the most fantastic way.

  4. I'm sorry you will be waiting some more. We also missed it by one day, and it is a serious disappointment. I would have cried buckets, but we had house guests at the time. I see you also have something to keep you busy! Newborns are wonderful.

I hope we'll get to meet sometime seeing as we are both Georgia girls (Atlanta area?) We are just now starting to get in a groove with Zoe, so it will be fun to watch your referral for, and travel to LilyKate from this side of the fence.

  7. Susan and Jonathon,
Your wait will be over soon! (Except the wait for your TA, now that will be hard!) It must feel so good to know that you are in for sure next time! When you see LilyKate's sweet little face for the first time you'll know, for sure, that everything happens for a reason!
    Hugs,
    Diane and Gary

  8. Susan,

Thank you so much for your comments. These are the worst labor pains anybody could ever suffer! Sure, they are not physical pains but far worse! Congrats on being next, I hope that gives you some comfort and what an awesome Mother's Day gift.
