Settling in

I know all of you are dying to hear how LilyKate and Eleanor are doing and see some pictures. All I can say is getting a schedule down and finding even a few minutes to myself throughout the day is hard - harder than I thought. Then, by the time Jonathan comes home from work, we eat dinner, bathe and put the girls down, and we are both ready for bed ourselves, but they are doing so well adjusting to their new lives. We had a great visit to the UAB International Adoption Clinic - although getting blood drawn was pretty traumatic for all of us - we made it through. We have some things to work on as far as development, but that is to be expected and we are more than able to tackle them. We will get the blood test results in a few weeks and we have an appointment with our new pediatrician scheduled for July 31st.

My parents have been a tremendous help since we've been home. My mom has not only been here to help me with the girls, but has also cooked us dinners, gone grocery shopping, and come along on several trips to Target. I could not have managed without her!

Anyway, here are some pics taken in the last week or so. The girls have been introduced to most of our family and friends since they have been home and have loved meeting everyone. Every day that passes they grow more comfortable, their personalities continue to emerge, and we just love them more and more. Being parents is all we hoped it would be and more than we expected. We can hardly remember what our life was before they came along.
