Sayings and doings

Eleanor and LilyKate - 27 months old, September 2009

The girls are growing and developing like crazy these days.  After being a little concerned about their speech development, we had them assessed by Babies Can't Wait (Early Intervention), and they were declared perfectly normal and right on track, so that was a relief.  They are suddenly talking up a storm and adding new words to their vocabulary every day. Here are some of the words they use consistently:

Mama
Dada
Sissy
Eat
Juice
More
No
Mine
Apple
Nana (banana)
Cookie
Gabba (Yo gabba gabba)
Sip (sippy cup)
Bo Bo (big bird)
Elmo
Coo coos (Blues Clues)
Night night
Bye or bye bye
Boo boo
Caca
Ready
Go
All Gone
All Clean
Bow
Chee (for cheese)
At (hat)
Ome (home)
Wort (work  ie. dada at wort)
Bampa (grandpa)
Bama (Grandma)
Up
Down
Cuppa Tea
Ye-Ye (Henry our dog)
Wawa (water)
Bath
Bubble
Ball
Boop (book)
Bowl
Pee-pee
Poo-poo
Color Boop (coloring book)
Eyes (for eyes and glasses)
Shoes
Birthday
Na-na (their word for blanket)
Baby
Car
Golf Cart
Chuch (church)

They also say many names of family and friends (or at least their version of it). They will usually repeat what you say, if you ask them (and if they are in the mood).

In addition to talking, they are dancing, singing songs and making us laugh with their silly antics on a daily basis...oh, and the tantrum thing is here to stay, but let's not focus on that, shall we? They are two after all and it goes with the territory.  We love them more every second!
